ICAPP Updates

Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee, The Secretariat is pleased to inform the members of the Standing Committee that a following agreement reached between the ICAPP Secretary General Park and Hon. Geoffrey Van Orden on 27 February, 2018, concerning the concrete plan of the 2nd Meeting of the Asia-Europe Political Forum (AEPF), based on the common understanding among SC members, including Hon. Jose de Venecia, Chairman of the ICAPP, and proposal by Hon. Hor Namhong, Co-Chairman of the AEPF.
1. Agenda Topics
1) 1st Working Session: Asia-Europe partnership and the role of political parties in regional co-operation and connectivity
2) 2nd Working Session: Co-operation in promoting affordable and clean energy, mitigating climate change, and preventing environmental degradation
3) 3rd Working Session: Disaster relief, combating major diseases - the humanitarian response
2. Chairperson(s)
1) 1st Working Session: Hon. Jose de Venecia
2) 2nd Working Session: Co-Chairman Hon. Geoffrey Van Orden and Hon. Hor Namhong

3. The Lead speaker of Asia and Europe in each Session will be selected by the ICAPP and European side, respectively. (until 30 March)
4. The Communique/Statement will be prepared to be adopted as a result of the Meeting. 5. The Keynote speakers will be selected by Hon. Geoffrey Van Orden, Co-Chairman of the AEPF, and they will be advised to prepare their remarks in advance for in-depth discussion. In this regard, SC Members are kindly requested to inform the Secretariat of their position on the following items until 30 March 2018: 1) the name of the SC members who would like to participate as Lead speaker.
2) the name of the SC members who would like to participate as discussants to express their views, and the session that they wish to speak
3) the list of participants who are going to participate in the 2nd Meeting of the AEPF
4) the name of delegation, together with the passport copy, who requires the visa invitation letter
Attached are the invitation letter, reservation form, and tentative program for the 2nd Meeting of the AEPF sent by the European Conservatives and Reformists Group.
