ICAPP Update (14-24)

Dear Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee,

With regard to the 8th GA to be held in Colombo during September 18-21, the themes for the 2nd Meeting of the ICAPP Women's Wing and the 3rd Meeting of the ICAPP Youth Wing have been decided as "Woman Politicians' Role in Building an Asian Community" and "Young Politicians' Role in Building an Asian Community" respectively after consultations with the Organizing Committee and the Bureau Members of both groups to make them consistent with the main theme of the GA, which is "Building an Asian Community."

The meetings of both groups will be held in the afternoon of September 19 in parallel with the GA. Attached is the revised tentative program of the GA.

The Secretariat will prepare drafts for Statements to be adopted respectively at the meetings of both groups, together with the draft Colombo Declaration to be adopted at the end of the 8th GA and circulate them in due course. In this regard, SC Members are requested to share their ideas or suggestions for items that should be included in the draft declaration and the statements.

In addition, 30 political parties from 20 countries have confirmed their participation in the GA as of today. Attached is their list. In this regard, SC Members are also requested to not only confirm their participation in the GA but also encourage other eligible political parties in their countries and neighbors to do so as soon as possible, and not later than August 15.
