ICAPP Update (14-26)

Dear Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee,

With regard to the proposal to hold the "First Joint Session between the ICAPP Standing Committee and the APA Executive Council" on the sidelines of the first APA Executive Council meeting to be held in Islamabad during August 20-21, 2014, made by the APA Secretariat, some SC Members have recommended to rather have the joint session on the sidelines of the 8th General Assembly (GA) of the ICAPP in Colombo during September 18-21, 2014. Since the 8th GA will be a larger gathering with a broader agenda, it may be more convenient for APA Executive Council members to attend the ICAPP GA rather than the smaller meeting of the APA in Islamabad in August. Many APA members may also be included in the delegations of their respective political parties to the 8th GA of the ICAPP.

In this regard, one SC Member has so far confirmed participation in the proposed joint session between the ICAPP and the APA in Islamabad in August as proposed by the APA Secretariat.

Under such circumstances, if SC Members agree to the above proposal to have the ICAPP-APA joint session on the sidelines of the 8th GA in Colombo in September instead of having it in Islamabad in August, the Secretariat will consult with both the APA Secretariat and the Organizing Committee of the 8th GA on how to organize the joint session during the 8th GA.
