ICAPP Update (14-04)

Dear Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee,

This is to report that, after close consultation among the Co-Chairmen and Special Rapporteur of the Standing Committee on the recent political situation in Thailand, they sent a letter to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon of the United Nations on January 24, 2014, recommending to take a U.N. initiative to preserve democracy in Thailand, including sending a special envoy or a special mediation team. In the letter, they also offered to send an ICAPP mission to meet with political leaders of Thailand in conjunction with the U.N. initiative.
