Dear Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee,

This is to inform you that as of October 12^th 2020, there have been no objections to the Secretariat’s proposal for the appointment of Hon. Cho Byung-jae, former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Malaysia and to Myanmar, and former Chancellor for the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA), as the new Secretary General of the ICAPP.

Given the unanimous consent of the 12 Standing Committee members who responded to the proposal, the Secretariat will consider the proposal as accepted.

Please note that as part of the procedure stipulated in Article 13 of the ICAPP Charter, this appointment by the Standing Committee will still be subject to final confirmation at the next General Assembly.

As of today, Ambassador Cho will execute functions as described in Articles 12-13 of the ICAPP Charter, and will be in charge of the general management of the Secretariat. Also, he will perform such other functions as entrusted by the General Assembly and the Standing Committee.

I have no doubt that the ICAPP Secretariat, under Ambassador Cho’s leadership, will excel in fulfilling all of the functions listed in the ICAPP Charter.
