ICAPP Update (12-32)
Dear Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee,
With regard to the plan to send an ICAPP Mission to Myanmar, which was agreed upon at the 17th SC Meeting held in Baku, the Secretariat has received confirmation both from the governing Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) and the main opposition National League for Democracy (NLD) of Myanmar that they would welcome the mission during August 10-12, 2012. The tentative program for the mission is attached herewith. The details of the program will be provided in due course after further consultations with the USDP and the NLD.
In this regard, the SC Members are requested to inform the Secretariat whether they will join the mission at their earliest convenience. Attached is the list of SC Members who have indicated their willingness to participate in the mission.
In addition, if the Members agree, the Secretariat will also contact the main political parties in the two neighboring countries of Myanmar, i.e. Bangladesh and Thailand, which are not SC Members, to join in the mission as special invitees.
With warm regards,
Co-Chairman of the Standing Committee
and Secretary General of the ICAPP
